Experience "i miss you: a play about a baby carrot"
Catch Au Jus Entertainment’s newest production, "i miss you: a play about a baby carrot", running February 5 through February 28 in Burbank, CA. Join us Thursday through Sunday at 7:30 PM, with special Sunday matinee performances at 2:00 PM, for a heartfelt and imaginative theatrical experience filled with creativity, humor, and memorable storytelling.
An exceptionally moving, sharply funny, and fiercely original piece of contemporary theater, this poignant dark comedy follows a fractured Jewish family through seven days of mourning after the loss of a toddler. When their rabbi is unexpectedly arrested on the first day of shiva, the family is left without spiritual guidance, improvising their own rituals while navigating an escalating domestic crisis: the grieving mother has begun caring for a backyard carrot as her surviving child, forcing her traditional, rule-bound father and distant husband to confront the breaking points of their own grief.
Blending absurdist humor with emotional depth, the play creates a beautifully unique exploration of grief where uncertainty and understanding exist side by side. Through its poetic rhythm, empathy, and brilliantly grounded sense of humor, "i miss you: a play about a baby carrot" offers a powerful reflection on the messy, awkward, and deeply human reality of loss and healing.
